How to Purl in the Back of a Stitch

Sometimes your pattern will ask you to purl in the back of a stitch. This tends to twist the stitch and make it tighter. It's easy, and here's what you do.

1. Instead of putting your right needle through the front of the purl stitch, you simply put it through the back.
2. Wrap the yarn around the needle and pull it out.
3. You have purled through the back.
